Graduation Projects

November 16, 2020: Update for SENIORS (Class of 2021):
Here is a quick update regarding Graduation Projects!  (This information applies to all seniors UNLESS you are completing your Graduation Project at a technical career center.)

Please join the Graduation Project Google Classroom: bx3hyke

That classroom is where you will submit all of the requirements this year.
There are two assignments:
1) Upload your 3 page paper OR the link for your digital portfolio (due by January 11, 2021).  The previous due date was Dec. 1, so essentially ALL seniors are getting an extension.

2) Upload a 3 minute video presentation to the second assignment (due by March 1, 2021)  This video presentation will take the place of in-person presentations.

Once you have done those two things, we will know that you have completed your Graduation Project (earning 0.5 credits required to graduate).

IF you are reading this and you feel really confused about how to get started, please don't stress.  I am here to assist you.  Please use this link to schedule an appointment.  If you don't see a time that works for your schedule, let me know and we can work something out.

Finally, please don't wait until January 10th to get started on this...

UPDATE:  We are working on a variety of options for scheduling presentations.  For seniors who have not yet handed in your paperwork, please reach out to me.  I am eager to brainstorm with you on what you have done during your high school years that we can work into a Graduation Project.  I have an alternative plan in mind as well.  Stay tuned to this website and your PV email for additional information.
If you have questions, please email me:
Thank you!

Graduation Projects remain a graduation requirement (0.5 credits) at Perkiomen Valley High School.  Students are encouraged to start exploring their options early in their high school education.  They may select from completing a project with a Volunteer, Career Exploration or Curriculum emphasis.  Each student needs to complete a minimum of 24 hours on their project and participate in a Mock Interview (intended to prepare them for future interviews).  Ideally, students will select projects that they find rewarding and interesting.

Perkiomen Valley High School hosts annual Future Ready Events (11/14/19) to assist students with networking.  (The required paperwork is available in the attachment below.)

Seniors (Class of 2020), we discussed Graduation Projects during the October Assembly in the gym.  If you missed that, there is a
quick video (less than 6 minutes long - start the video around 1:20) from last year.  It covers some of the basics.

Juniors (Class of 2021), below is the information from last year's assembly for juniors.  It might be a helpful refresher for you.  You had an assembly last year (when you were sophomores).  Please let me know if you have any questions.  IF you are prepared to present your project early, please hand in the paperwork before Winter Break 2019.

Sophomores (Class of 2021), below is the information that was shared with last year's sophomores.  We spoke during the Future Ready Event (in the small gym).  For this year, you are only expected to hand in your proposal (April Fool's Day).  But, if you are ready to get started, please do!

Sophomores, here is a message regarding submitting a proposal.  Please know that your proposal is approved unless you hear from Mrs. Colucci for some revisions.  You may submit your proposal directly to my office near the library, ask you homeroom teacher to hand them in OR ask the main office staff to put the completed proposal form in Mrs. Colucci's mailbox.  If you change your idea from your original proposal... just submit a new proposal.  Your proposal should match your final project.

Please contact Mrs. Patti Colucci ( for additional assistance with completing this graduation requirement.
