posted Dec 7, 2018, 9:01 AM by Cynthia Moss

Good afternoon,

Winter Keystones will continue on Monday of next week. Students scheduled to test received yellow passes this week indicating their testing location and proctor. Testing should report DIRECTLY to their testing room at 7:50 on the days of their assigned tests. Students testing should get a good night sleep and have number 2 pencils and a calculator. Parents of Keystone Testing Students should review the attached information.

Also, review materials for all three exams can be found on the district website at the link below:

Please direct any questions to Mr. Berk in the Main Office.

Perkiomen Valley School District is proud to support families in need this holiday season through the 3rd annual PV Cares Holiday Drive, which will run from Nov. 19th - Dec. 10th at each school.

All items collected will support the Daily Bread Food Pantry and the PV Power Packs program, both of which are serving PV families during the holiday season.  Click here for a breakdown of donations designated by grade level.

Donations can be brought to the main lobby. Thank you for supporting our community.

Graduation Project paperwork for our seniors (time log, mock interview form and 3 page paper) is due on or before 12/7/18.  More information can be found here.  Any underclass student that is prepared to present their project this spring should also work to complete their paperwork and hand it in either before Winter Break or immediately after Winter Break.  Questions? Have your student e-mail Mrs. Colucci at pcolucci@pvsd.org or have him/her stop by 237.

Vaping is a widespread issue among some young folks.  Please see the information from the Montgomery County’s Office of Drug and Alcohol to find out more information about vaping. They have provided a  Vaping Toolkit with resources for families, schools, and healthcare providers-www.montcopa.org/vapingtoolkit.

PVSD will be hosting several parent information evenings. Please see the information below and plan to attend. Registration information can be found on the flyers.

An Educational Trip Request form must be submitted to the main office five

(5) days prior to the student’s departure. Educational Trip Form

Approval for such trips is limited to ten (10) school days per year. Any days above the 10 days of absence will not be approved for an educational trip.

Educational trips will not be approved during Keystone Exams or Final Exams

Non-school educational trips are not recommended for students in academic difficulty or with attendance problems and will not be approved.

It is the responsibility of the student to contact his/her teacher to make arrangements to make up work missed during an educational trip.

College visits and job shadowing opportunities will be counted as non-absences if student returns with official evidence from the college/job (i.e., stationary/business card from college admissions office or from supervisor if job shadowing, and/or other documentation verifying proof of visit/job shadowing).

If you represent a booster organization here in the Valley that participates in any fundraising or hosts events, please make sure you fill out the fundraiser form, submit it to Mrs. George and get it approved prior to commencing the event. The forms are located in the main office.

Student Service will be in the cafeteria lobby on December 18th to distribute class rings.
Please remind your student that they need to report to the nurse’s suite if they are not feeling well. The nurses will contact parents if a student needs to be sent home. Dismissal from the nurse’s office is an excused absence.  Per the student handbook, the ill student’s dismissal will be considered an unexcused absence if the ill student contacts their parent/guardian on their own prior to reporting to the nurse or does not report to the nurse.

Senior students were sent an email which contained a short survey this week to sign up for which elementary school they would like to attend for the senior walk. There are also several other questions on the survey which will be used to help assist us in scheduling students’ graduation project panels. Please encourage your student to respond to the survey asap.

Senior parents,  it’s not too late to submit a Recognition Ad for your child.  Just visit the High School homepage and click on the PVHS VOYAGER YEARBOOK ORDERING icon at the bottom of the page.  Deadline to submit an ad is December 31, 2018.
