posted Apr 12, 2018, 9:21 AM by Cynthia Moss

Good afternoon,

An assembly was held on Tuesday 4/10  for all Juniors (class of 2019) regarding their Senior Trip next year to Disney.  All in attendance were provided with paperwork about the trip. If your child has misplaced that paperwork they may get additional copies in the main office or on the class of 19 website   Class of 2019.  The first deposit is due in May.

During that same assembly, they were given a refresher about Graduation Projects, reminded to complete those projects this summer and hand in their paperwork before the 12/1/18 deadline (next school year.  More information about Graduation Projects may be found here.

Senior parents should read the attached Commencement Packet. If you have questions please contact me, Cyndi Moss cmoss@pvsd.org,  or Mrs. Venenzia nvenezia@pvsd.org.  I can’t believe how quickly it will be here:)

Let us know what scholarship(s) your son or daughter will be accepting for next year by filling out the form online no later than May 26th.    Class of 18 Scholarships

Information sent out to you previously but still relevant:

The PV Student Loan applications are now available.  If your student is a senior and looking for an interest-free loan you can get the application online at http://www.pvsd.org/home/links-to-pv-supporting-organizations/perkiomen-valley-student-loan-association or contact Mrs. Prettyman in the counseling center.

The HS staff has been busy trying to enter any past due debts or current fees (for example the activity fee and senior dues) into Home Access Center so you can see what your son/daughter might owe.  The fee tab can be found at the registration page. In the future, an online payment option will be available, but for now, the payments still need to be submitted the old school way (brought to school).  If you have questions about a fee listed, please contact the appropriate person (teachers for textbooks, librarian for library fees, main office for activity fees, athletic office for athletic debts, etc).  I hope you will find this to be a more efficient way to view the “debt list”.

Educational Trip information

An Educational Trip Request form must be submitted to the Principal five (5) days prior to the student’s departure. Educational Trip Form

Approval for such trips is limited to ten (10) school days per year. Any days above the 10 days of absence will not be approved for an educational trip.

Educational trips will not be approved during Keystone Exams or Final Exams

Non-school educational trips are not recommended for students in academic difficulty or with attendance problems and will not be approved.

It is the responsibility of the student to contact his/her teacher to make arrangements to make up work missed during an educational trip.

College visits and job shadowing opportunities will be counted as non-absences if student returns with official evidence from the college/job (i.e., stationary/business card from college admissions office or from supervisor if job shadowing, and/or other documentation verifying proof of visit/job shadowing).

Please call the school  by 8:30 AM to notify us of your student’s absence.

When you call the attendance line, you will be directed to leave a message for Mrs. Berry.

If you need to speak to her, please contact the main office and ask to speak with her.

There are two designations for absences from school in Pennsylvania, excused and unexcused. An absence from school is categorized as excused when it is followed by a note that provides an acceptable reason for the absence within three days of the absence.

This note may be sent as an email to cberry@pvsd.org. The source of this email must be listed as a guardian contact email address on the district’s eSchoolPlus student information system.

An absence is categorized as unexcused when the child’s school has not received a note providing an acceptable reason for the absence within a three day time period.

As always, if you have any questions about anything in this email or about any of our procedures, please contact either myself or any of the house principals.  Our handbook is also a great resource for you. Handbooks

Have a wonderful weekend,
