High Lites Dec 15

posted Dec 15, 2017, 10:50 AM by Cyndi Moss

Good afternoon,

By now you have probably heard about the tragedy that occurred this week in Schwenksville.  There are several fundraisers throughout our community to help support the family. Please access our website for more information about how you can help or use the link below. The HS staff is planning to provide the Schwenksville staff with lunch next week and our students are making a “video card” for the younger students. I expect you will hear about other things our students are doing in the days to come.  Counselors are available for our students who have been deeply affected by this tragedy. Fundraising Efforts.

We will be having an “Ugly Holiday Sweater” contest on Dec 19th. The grade level with the highest participation rates will win bragging rights and the one student with the best sweater will win a prize. The faculty will also be donning their holiday best in their own competition.  All outfits must meet the dress code. Creativity is a plus.

As of right now, the girls and boys basketball games scheduled for tonight have been postponed. The make-up date has not been yet determined.  Our girls track team will not be going to Lehigh tonight for the track meet.  You can check the athletic page for other updates.

Comprehensive Planning/Special Education Plan Update:

It’s time to begin Comprehensive Planning here at PV. Every three years, school districts are required to create a plan that helps "set the course" for the district over the next three years.  A Steering Committee made up of stakeholders (employees, parents, students, Board members and community members) has been formed to lead this effort and is already working toward developing a mission, vision, and goals for our district.

We hope to provide helpful information throughout this process through website updates and emails. Part of this process will also involve us asking you for feedback about our district through surveys. Keep an eye out for future requests. In the meantime, you can keep up to date on Comprehensive Plan by visiting the district website for information.  Comprehensive Plan Information

If the district calls for a 2-hour delay (sorry, we don’t make that call at the building level), you will be notified via phone and an email.  Our website will also post information.  We do not send our AM Tech students to the tech school when we have a two hour delay.  PM tech does attend and will have lunch at 11:20am. School begins at 9:50am and all students will have a 30 minute lunch period.

Stay up to date with the HS by checking the announcements everyday on our website  at  Daily Announcements

Students who ordered a class ring from Student Services can pick it up on Thursday, December 21st outside of the cafeteria during all lunches.

Senior quotes for the yearbook are due by Sunday, December 31st and senior recognition ads are due by Monday, January 15th. You can access the yearbook information on our website at Yearbook
