High Lites May 25

posted May 25, 2018, 8:15 AM by Cynthia Moss

Good afternoon,

We have had a fun week here in the Valley.  Yesterday the HS hosted the annual PV Special Olympics. It was a beautiful day and our students had a great time.

Don’t forget we don’t have school Monday as it is Memorial Day.  Take some time to remember those who died while serving our country.

At least one parent has contacted me about reinstating the HS Home and School beginning next year. I am hoping that more of you are interested in participating.  Please let me know if you are interested in helping with this endeavor. I am hoping to have a meeting early this summer to further discuss this.

The last day to make ANY changes to next year’s requested courses is June 30th.  After that date the requests are final and students will be expected to remain in those courses for the entire 18-19 school year.  Please sit with your student to discuss their requested courses now and contact your student’s counselor to make any changes. We will only make changes to schedules if there is a mistake.

The bus waiver and parking permit application for the 2018-2019 school year is now available in the main office or online

Parking Information 2018-2019

A bus waiver form must be completed and turned into the main office no later than June 13th if a student is currently assigned to a bus yet wishes to waive the bus seat next year.  In exchange for waiving a seat on the bus next year the district will discount the parking permit rate. This option is not available after June 13th, so if you are interested in waiving the bus seat please fill out the application today and return it to Mrs. George.

The parking application must be completed in its entirety and returned to Mrs. George in the main office. On the application you must indicate whether you have applied for a bus waiver and if you will be paying for the permit with cash or check made out to PVHS or pay by credit card through HAC. If you choose to pay through HAC you cannot submit the payment until we have received your application and a bill has been generated for you in HAC (I expect that to occur within 48 hours of the application being submitted).  We are now able to take check, debit card or credit cards to make payments on HAC. Please see below for more information.

You will also need to supply a copy of the student’s valid driver’s license and current insurance card with the application.  Parking permits will not be assigned and distributed until sometime in August. I will send out the exact times and dates for permit pick up over the summer.

We will accept parking applications until we have sold out of parking spots.  Unfortunately we only have approximately 300 spots for students and last year we were sold out by November.

And from the nurses’ office:

Pennsylvania State Law requires all students to have a complete health record on file. This includes a medical physical examination for all 11th grade including students attending PYAP, full time NMTCC, full time MCCC, PV Virtual Academy and Cyber School. A phone call and email message has been sent to you if your student does not have one on file.

The Private Physical Examination form is attached for your convenience and can also be located on the district website – Parent Tab – Forms.

Please send the completed physical exam form to school.

Your student will be placed on the debt list until the physical exam form is received.

Please contact Mrs. Morgitan with any questions/concerns at 610-489-1230 or jmorgitan@pvsd.org

Physical Form

The State requires each 12th grade student (including PYAP, NMTCC, PVV, MCCC students) to have 2 (two doses) of Meningitis (MenACWY) vaccine before entering 12th grade.

A phone call and email message has been sent to you if your current 11th grade student does not have one on file.

Please send an updated vaccination record to our school health office prior to the first day of school - August 27, 2018.

For your convenience, in partnership with Frontstream Payments, the high school now accepts online payments  through the Home Access Center for outstanding fees. Please note in order to be directed to the Frontstream payment portal you will need to disable popup blockers on your web browser.

To access the payment portal log into HAC and choose the "Fees" tab

Processing fees are as follows:

  • 25 cents per transaction for electronic check payments (requires entering bank routing number and account number)

  • 2.10% for payment with a Debit Card

  • 2.39% for credit card payment

  • 2.89% for payment with a credit rewards card
