posted Nov 10, 2017, 9:08 AM by Cyndi Moss

Good afternoon,

Follow the High School on Twitter @PerkValleyHS and on Facebook for updates on school happenings and upcoming events

Don't forget to come see the fall play, Class Action, at 7:30pm on 11/10 and 11/11, or 2pm on 11/12 in the PVHS auditorium! $10 at the Door.

Conferences will be held on November 20th and 21st. This year, the high school will be offering opportunities for parents to meet after regular school hours on Monday November 20th.  Should you wish to have a conference with a teacher, please contact that teacher directly.  You can find the email addresses of all staff members on our website (most staff email addresses are the teacher’s first initial and last name @pvsd.org.

On Wednesday, November 15th, Perkiomen Valley High School will showcase our annual Career & Volunteer Fair events.  The schedule for the first three periods of the day is attached.  We encourage our students to "dress to impress."  (That does not mean that they need to go out an purchase a new outfit.  It means that they should wear something that they are comfortable in and that helps them put their best foot forward with our community members.)

If you have a student that is a Junior or Senior, they were encouraged to sign up for Workshops on Thursday.  If they have not already done this, please encourage them to visit the High School News Section of PVSD.ORG.  Juniors and seniors should register for workshops by Monday morning or they will be assigned to one.  Events like our Career & Volunteer Fair are important to developing the whole child, please encourage your student to participate fully.

If you have any questions or feedback, please refer them to Patti Colucci: pcolucci@pvsd.org.  Thank you!

American Education Week is a celebration of public education and the people who contribute to our students’ success. Please join us in this celebration by making plans to stop by one of our schools on Parent Visitation Day. All of our schools will be welcoming parents to visit on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Times are:

Elementary Schools: 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Middle Schools and High School: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A few notes for parents:

  • We cannot make accommodations for parents to eat lunch or attend recess with their children.
  • Volunteer clearances are not necessary to visit on this day, but you will need to be prepared to show your driver’s license when you sign in at your child’s school.
  • Please do not bring younger siblings along for the visit.
  • Please be respectful of student privacy issues and refrain from capturing photos/ video during your visit.

The PVSD Foundation is excited to bring the Harlem Wizards back to the Valley for a night of entertainment on Friday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in Perkiomen Valley High School gym. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Download a ticket order form off the PVSD Foundation website and return it to school no later than Nov. 13.

Make checks payable to the PVSD Foundation. Tickets will be sent home by Nov. 15.

Tickets will also be available the night of the event and will be $12. The concession stand will be open selling pretzels, hot dogs, and water. Harlem Wizards merchandise will also be available for sale during the game.

Money raised through this event supports the PVSD Foundation, which provides funding for educational programs that would not otherwise be available through tax dollars or other traditional sources. We look forward to seeing you at the game and watching the Wizards compete against our own PV teachers and staff. It's sure to be a fun evening for all!

All students taking an AP CLASS at PV are expected to take the AP Test.  Payment for the tests is now overdue.  AP Tests can be paid for on-line at the High School Website

AP Exam RegistrationThose students requiring a payment plan (or if you have any questions regarding payment) should see Mr. Stipa in the Main Office.

We have an after school bus available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4PM for students who stay after for academic help only.  Students must get a bus pass from the teacher they stay after with in order to get on the bus. The bus leaves from the top of the student parking lot.
