Students who are going on college visits must also turn in an educational trip form and if proof of the visit is supplied the trip will not be counted as an absence.

We will be holding a lockdown/Run Hide Fight drill  with an “active shooter” scenario sometime next week.  We are required by state law to conduct a drill such as this within the first 60 days of school. Volunteer Procedures

The Perkiomen Valley School District is thankful for the support of its many volunteers. All individuals volunteering/chaperoning as program volunteers in any capacity within the Perkiomen Valley School District are required to obtain the following clearances:

We also require program volunteers to submit the following:

  • Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement Form that states you have read our Volunteer Handbook

  • Tuberculosis Risk Assessment Questionnaire

You may access the handbook (which contains the acknowledgement form and questionnaire) here.

Once you have completed the necessary documents, you should submit all paperwork to the Volunteer Coordinator in your child's building. (The Volunteer Coordinator list is located below.) If you have a child in more than one building, you do not need to repeat this process for every school. Submit your clearances to one building and your information will be included in a district-wide database that all schools can access. YOU SHOULD RETAIN ORIGINALS FOR YOUR FILES. Do not bring clearance forms to the District Office.

All three clearance reports must be renewed every five years. If you are not sure how old your clearances are, please email Karen Zucker at kzucker@pvsd.org for information.

If your current clearances are more than five years old, you will need to submit a new set of Pennsylvania clearances and the fingerprint report Registration ID number/Act 153 Volunteer Affidavit to your child’s building. Please keep in mind that you will need to re-submit all of your clearances before each five-year period has expired. Examples: If you obtained your clearances in June 2015, you will have to re-submit your clearances again prior June 2020 in order to remain in compliance.

If you need to check on your clearances or submit materials, please send them to Nancy Venezia  at the High School. If you aren’t sure if your clearances are up to date, she can search the district wide database. Thank you!

This Spring, PVHS will Present Shrek, The Musical.  Auditions for the PVHS Musical will be held Tuesday, November 19th at  2:30 pm to 6:30 pm and Wednesday November. 20th 2:30pm to 6:30pm, with Call Backs Thursday, November 21st 2:30pm to 6:30 pm. Students who missed the initial meeting can get an audition packet from Mr. Griffie in Room 144.

All of our students should now have an ID for the 19-20 school year.  All students and staff are expected to wear their IDs each day.  Students who forget their IDs at home are to report to the main office for a temporary ID.  Students will receive a detention upon the third time they have forgotten their ID. Students who are refusing to wear their ID or forget extremely often will be facing further discipline. Thank you for encouraging your student to have their ID.

Future Readiness Event: Are you willing to share with our students about your career or information about how our students can get involved in our community?  Please consider joining us for this event on Thursday, November 14thHere is a link with more information. Below you will find the student schedule for that morning.  Seniors who might have the privilege to come in later in the mornings are strongly encouraged to arrive by 7:50AM for this event.

The farmer’s almanac is predicting an interesting winter with several major  snow storms. The district calendar does have 3 snow days built into it. In the event that we have more than 3 snow days, we will add days to the end of the year.  Final exams are the LAST THREE days of the year, regardless of when that is.  Please be cognizant of this when you are planning your get-a-aways in June. We do not offer early exams for students who will be absent for exams nor will we approve educational trips during exams.  Student’s who are not in school for their final exam will need to make up the exam within two weeks of the exam date.

Conference time is right around the corner.  We will have our conferences on Nov 25th and 26th.  There will be evening conferences available on the 25th.  Please directly contact a teacher/counselor if you wish to have a conference.

American Education Week is celebrated Nov. 18-22 and to mark the occasion, Perkiomen Valley School District will be hosting a Parent Visitation Day on Wednesday, Nov. 20. (Please note that this date has been changed from what was promoted in the printed activities calendar you may have received. The printed calendar erroneously noted American Education Week as the week of Nov. 13.)  Parent Visitation Day times for the HS are 9am to 1pm.

Please note that we cannot make accommodations for parents to eat lunch with their student.

Volunteer clearances are not necessary to visit on this day, but you will need to be prepared to show your driver’s license when you sign in at your child’s school.

Please do not bring younger siblings along for the visit.

Please be respectful of student privacy issues and refrain from capturing photos/video during your visit.
