High Lites Oct 25

posted Oct 25, 2019, 9:58 AM by Cyndi Moss

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Today our Key Club sponsored their first of two blood drives this year in the Valley. One of the things that makes PVHS so special is our students desire to volunteer in our community and the empathy they demonstrate. They will be helping out many people by participating today and they are also competing against Spring-Ford in this annual blood drive competition.

The first marking period is quickly coming to an end. The last day of the marking period is Nov 1 and report cards will be available in HAC at noon on Nov 8th.

All of our students should now have an ID for the 19-20 school year.  All students and staff are expected to wear their IDs each day.  If a student forgets their ID at home, a temporary can be issued in the main office.  Lost IDs (and for those who forget it quite often) will be replaced for a $5 fee. Please encourage your student to wear their ID each day as it is part of our safety plan for our school.

We will be holding a lockdown/Run Hide Fight drill in the coming weeks. PVTV programming will include information for students and staff prior to the drill.  We will send you more information in November.

The farmer’s almanac is predicting an interesting winter with several major  snow storms. The district calendar does have 3 snow days built into it. In the event that we have more than 3 snow days, we will add days to the end of the year.  Final exams are the LAST THREE days of the year, regardless of when that is.  Please be cognizant of this when you are planning your get-a-aways in June. We do not offer early exams for students who will be absent for exams nor will we approve educational trips during exams.  Student’s who are not in school for their final exam will need to make up the exam within two weeks of the exam date.

Conference time is right around the corner.  We will have our conferences on Nov 25th and 26th.  There will be evening conferences available on the 25th.  Please be on the lookout for information from each teacher about these days.

Our next extended “homeroom” will take place on Nov 7th in the morning.  We will be using part of this time for our juniors and seniors to register for workshops for our Future Ready Conference.   We will be following this schedule:
