Good afternoon,

Don’t forget to change your clocks back one hour this weekend!

Good luck to the field hockey and football teams at districts this weekend.  The girls play OJR at Methacton at 5 pm Saturday for the district title and the boys open district play at  home tonight at 7 against Quakertown.

Today is the last day of the first marking period.  Report cards will be available on Home Access Center on Nov 9th at noon.

Tuesday Nov 6th is an inservice day for staff. There is no school for students.

Perkiomen Valley High School students have been hard at work rehearsing for their upcoming performances of "Little Women," which will take place Nov. 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., and on Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. in the auditorium.

Tickets are general admission and will be sold at the door or during lunches for $10. They can also be purchased for $11 through this link: perkiomen-valley-school-district.ticketleap.com/little-women/

"Little Women" has been captivating audiences for over a century with the classic story of four sisters navigating life, love and grief during the Civil War. As Marmee, their dearest mother explains, each of the girls is as unique as she is wonderful: “Amy, the artist, Jo, the writer, Meg, the poised beauty, and Beth, the thoughtful dear. ”

Gary Pederson’s screenplay brings out the distinct personalities of each character as they challenge the expectations of women in the 1800s and embrace each other in a dangerous world. Set at Christmas time, the play is a celebration of family, friendships, and love.

The cast is led by faculty advisors Linda McAllister, Tricia Fisher, Matthew Lyczak, and Bryan Nawrocki, who assist Stage Manager Lindsey Edens and Production Assistant Jenna DelMonte.

The talented cast is sure to bring new life, humor, and perspective to these familiar characters. Leanna Strohecker tackles the role of fiercely independent Jo March, who questions the opportunities available to women in Civil War America. Samantha Heirgessell is sophisticated Meg March, who falls in love as she worries about her responsibilities to her struggling family. Julia Gerberich plays sweet, selfless Beth, always trying to bring more love into a cruel world through music and empathy, and Kelly McKenzie plays sassy and creative Amy, both precious and precocious. Laurie, the aristocratic Victorian best friend to the March sisters, is hilariously portrayed by John Baranowski.

CAREER & VOLUNTEER FAIR - Thursday, November 15th

The annual Career & Volunteer Fair is quickly approaching. Here is a link for some information (eg: student schedule).  Juniors and Seniors were emailed a link on Thursday, October 25th to register for workshops.  Once a workshop is filled, that option will be removed from the available list. Seniors will register for two workshops and Juniors will register for one workshop.  All Juniors and Seniors are asked to please complete the registration ASAP. If they do not complete it, a workshop will be assigned to them (which we prefer not to do).  Students will need to be logged into their PVSD.org account in order to complete the registration.

We still need YOU!  The success of this event relies on a wide variety of participants.  Please consider sharing your interests (career or volunteer) with our students.  Here is the registration link.  Participant registration is wrapping up, please sign up now.

We are especially in need of more volunteer organizations.  Our students are always eager to hear about how they can give back to their community, the Volunteer Fair is one way to connect with a large number of students.

For more information about the Career and Volunteer Fair, contact Patti Colucci at pcolucci@pvsd.org.  Thank you!
