What is the Post-Prom Party?
The Post-Prom Party is an overnight event held each year on the same date as the prom and is provided as a safe alternative to students who want to continue celebrating once the prom is over. Each year, the party features a different theme, with a variety of games, activities, food, and prizes available for students who attend. Last year, due to a lack of volunteers, the Post Prom event was held off-site. In 2018, we want to bring the event back to the high school where it has traditionally taken place.

Why do we need a Post-Prom Party?

The Post-Prom Party is important to protecting the overall health and safety of the PV Community. In addition to providing young people with a drug-and-alcohol-free environment in which to gather, the event helps protect the larger community by reducing the number of teens who may be on the road following the prom. Post-prom parties are offered in communities throughout the region as a way to reduce the risk that can be associated with nights like the prom, where teens can be tempted to make poor decisions that may lead to tragic consequences.

How much does it cost?
The Post-Prom Party is free for those who attend, but it costs approximately $25,000 in donated funds to put the entire event together.

Who can go to the Post-Prom Party?
The Post-Prom Party is open to juniors and seniors (and their dates, grades 10-age 21), regardless of whether or not he or she attends the prom. We want as many students as possible to experience this outstanding event!

How can I get involved?
We are so glad you asked! It takes about 200 volunteers to plan, fundraise and run the event each year. There are many ways for community members to get involved. We need people who can:

· Seek out and acquiring sponsors for the event
· Organize activities, games and entertainment
· Make and install decorations
· Fundraise
· Acquire prizes to be given out the night the event
· Plan food for the event

Do I need to have a student in high school to get involved?
Though many of our volunteers tend to be parents of high school students, we welcome parents of younger students and any interested community member to get involved with this event so that the organizational committee can stay vital year-after-year. Volunteers will need clearances to serve the night of the event.
